Video: Retailers Prepare for Black Friday

[bitsontherun vnlkKjGr]COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Major retailers are gearing up to offer you their best deals of the year.  After Thanksgiving dinner is served, millions of shoppers will be headed out to see just how much they can save.

“It’s going to be our one sale of the year because it’s Black Friday and that’s what customers expect,” says JC Penney Manager, Victoria Aurigemma.

The day after Thanksgiving is the most anticipated shopping day of the year.  Black Friday is considered the official start of the Christmas Shopping season and the point at which most retailers began to turn a profit or are “in the black”.

This year retailers are going above and beyond traditional discounts.

“We’ll be giving away 100 great American vacations to great destinations such as New York, Chicago, a bunch of different great vacations in the US as well as JC Penney merchandise, gift cards and savings certificates,” says Aurigemma.

The Leigh Mall will open it’s doors at 5 am and JC Penney will open at 6am this Friday.

Shoppers can also take advantage of Black Friday specials online.
