Lots of Sunshine with More Trouble in the Tropics

Warm and sunny today with highs back in the low to mid 90s.

TROPICS: Hurricane Dorian continues to remain stationary and wobble in the Bahamas.  As of 4AM Wednesday, it remained as a category 2 storm and was moving up the Florida Coast.  The storm is expected to bring impacts through the Carolinas the next 48 hours.

Tropical Storm Fernand will bring heavy rain to the South Texas Rio Grande Valley Region as it makes landfall later today.

Newly formed Tropical Storm Gabrielle remains out in the open waters of the Atlantic and poses no threat to the United States.

2 other areas are being monitored for tropical development, neither which pose a threat to the mainland USA over the next 7 days.

TODAY: Lots of sunshine again as temperatures soar into the mid 90s.  Heat index values will be near 100° in the afternoon with north winds 5-10 mph and a few clouds here and there.

TONIGHT: North winds fall below 5 mph under a clear and starry sky.  Look for temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 tonight.  A weak cold front approaches and may very well bring some drier air in just in time for Thursday, but no rain is expected.

THURSDAY: A touch drier with temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90.  Look for lots of sunshine with few, if any clouds and north winds 5-10 mph.

FRIDAY – TUESDAY: More summer weather and sunshine is expected into the weekend as highs will be in the low to mid 90s. The warm weather looks to continue into next week with heat index values

NEXT WEEK EXTENDED OUTLOOK: The latest from the Climate Prediction Center places us in better odds for warmer than average temperatures and drier than average rainfall.  That suggestion means it could be at least 2 weeks before we see widespread measurable rainfall, barring something tropical forming and moving in from the South.
