Beautiful Through Midweek, but Friday Brings Showers and Storms

TODAY: Ample sunshine will occur as clouds clear out early this morning.  We’ll see beautiful warm weather with highs climbing into the middle and perhaps upper 60s.  Look for winds between 6-12 mph starting from the south and ending to the north and west by this evening.

TONIGHT: Lows Tuesday Night fall into the upper 30s and low 40s under a mostly clear sky.  Wind will be light and variable, likely starting by the morning out of the south and east.

WEDNESDAY: Lots of sunshine is anticipated again, but clouds will fill in from the west during the day.  We’ll keep things dry with highs in the upper 60s and even low 70s in a few spots.  Lows fall into the upper 40s.

THURSDAY: A few isolated showers roll in ahead of a developing system.  Most stay dry, warm and mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.  Lows fall into the middle 50s Thursday Night.

FRIDAY / FRIDAY NIGHT: A complex weather system winds up and enters the region.  We expect a developing low pressure system to form along a strong cold front to our west.  The track of the low is actually favorable for severe weather.  However, other necessary ingredients, including thunderstorm energy and low-level wind shear will be lacking to absent.  This means the threat for strong storms will likely remain very low, though an isolated strong storm can’t be ruled out.  Regardless, lots of rain with a few thunderstorms will lead to a soggy Friday / Friday evening, likely causing problems for Friday Night football games.  Look for highs ahead of the front to be in the upper 60s and low 70s, with temperatures overnight falling into the middle 40s behind the front.

SATURDAY: A few isolated showers are expected behind the front coming in.  Things will quickly trend drier with a few clouds into the afternoon, but we’ll be much cooler and breezy with northwest winds.  Look for highs to only climb into the upper 40s and low 50s.

SUNDAY – EARLY NEXT WEEK: Post-cold front, we’ll be back in the 50s and eventually the 60s with more sunshine than not.  The latest 6-10 day outlook from the Climate Prediction Center places us with more favorable odds for cooler and wetter weather in the region.  We agree and are eyeballing a second system heading into the middle of next week.
