Chilly Days; Freezing Nights Ahead. More Rain On The Way.

TODAY: Chilly and cloudy today, with numerous showers. Temperatures hover today in the low 50s. Rain will be most widespread in the morning, becoming more isolated in the afternoon and tapering off by the evening hours. The rain should be done before high school football kicks off this evening. Overnight, temperatures drop into the low 30s. Areas along and north of US-82 will most likely drop to 32° or below, with areas along and south of US-82 dropping near or to freezing.

WEEKEND: The cold weather continues through the weekend, with highs in the low 50s, and a few upper 40s under mostly sunny skies Saturday then partly sunny Sunday. Temperatures dip below freezing area-wide Saturday night, but cloud cover and a few showers roll in by Sunday evening, keeping low temperatures in the 40s.

MON/TUE: Widespread rain across the area as a cold front pushes through the area Monday all day continuing into Monday night. Highs in the low 50s. Overnight lows Monday night in the mid 30s. Lingering showers are possible Tuesday morning, then gradual clearing. High temperatures in the low to mid 40s Tuesday. Clear skies and a hard freeze Tuesday night, with lows in the mid 20s.

WED/THU: Sunny and cold, with highs in the upper 40s Wednesday and low to mid 50s Thursday. Another hard freeze Wednesday night with lows in the upper 20s.
