Chilly Weather Today; Warmer and Stormier End To Week.

TODAY: Cold with widespread frost in the morning. Skies remain clear and sunny today.  Temperatures remain below freezing until mid-morning. High temperatures in the mid 40s, with wind chills in the upper 30s and low 40s. Staying clear overnight, allowing temperatures to drop into the mid 20s.

WEDNESDAY: We remain dry and warm up slightly with high temperatures in the low 50s. Overnight lows remain above freezing in the mid to upper 30s.

THURSDAY: The warm-up continues with high temperatures in the low 60s. Partly sunny, with a few scattered showers, especially later in the day and into the evening. Overnight, lows drop into the mid 50s, with an isolated shower possible.

FRIDAY/SATURDAY: A few showers possible during the day Friday, with perhaps a thunderstorm. Highs in the upper 60s. A cold front approaches from the west Friday night into Saturday triggering storms, some of which could be strong to severe. As of right now, there is still some uncertainty regarding the amount of de-stabilization (how much energy storms can tap in to to become strong) our area will see, as well as if upper level wind energy will match up well with storms as they move through our area. Regardless, there is at least some severe weather threat with this setup late Friday into Saturday. As we get closer to the event, we should be able to fine-tune the forecast a bit more. Storms likely Saturday, especially in the first half of the day. High temperatures in the 70s. Rain ends before the overnight hours, with lows in the upper 40s.

SUN/MON: Mainly dry Sunday as the front stalls just south of our area. With no upper level support for a big cool-down though, high temperatures top out around 70°. Overnight lows in the 40s. A new surface low develops west of us and lifts the now warm front north through our area Monday bringing another chance for rain, and brings another cold front crashing through Monday night into Tuesday, and this one is more likely to bring a significant cool-down. Highs in the mid to upper 60s.
