Freeze Warning Tonight: Cold Start to Saturday

FREEZE WARNING FOR FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING.  TAKE PRECAUTIONS FOR PETS, PIPES, PEOPLE AND PLANTS.

TONIGHT: Rain and clouds clear to the south and east which leaves a north wind and clear skies by morning.  As such, temperatures will drop quickly into the upper 20s and low 30s.  With winds out of the north between 5-10 mph, it may limit frost formation, but it will allow for wind chill values to fall into the upper teens to mid 20s in the morning, setting up a bitter cold start to the weekend.

THIS WEEKEND: Chilly on Saturday with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s. Sunshine finally returns on Saturday which will help, but it still feels cold. Temperatures drop below freezing again Saturday night, and frost will be expected across the area. Temperatures climb into the low 50s on Sunday, with a slight chance for a shower in the afternoon and evening.

MONDAY/MONDAY NIGHT: Rain moves back in, and Monday looks to be a cold and dreary day.  Look for temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s.  As Monday Night approaches, a second cold front will help to usher in another push of arctic air.  There is a small window of opportunity for areas to the north and west to see some flurries.  Regardless, NO accumulation and NO impacts will occur.  The closer to Memphis you are, the better your odds, as low as they may be.

TUESDAY: Look for a few showers Tuesday Morning with more sunshine by the afternoon.  Any precipitation looks to wrap up well before lunchtime, and perhaps even before sunrise.  Again, we’ll have to watch and see if a lucky few of us can squeeze a few flurries out, but odds and confidence in this is low right now, and again there will be NO impacts if this does occur.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY: Both days start off with temperatures in the 20s, but with lots of sunshine afternoon highs will rebound into the 40s and 50s.

FRIDAY/NEXT WEEKEND: We’re back into the low 60s by Friday, and we should keep the sunshine and warmer temperatures into the weekend, as no weather systems are lining up to our west to bring us any chance of precipitation.
