COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The Columbus police department released 13 videos of more than two hours worth of body camera footage from the Special Operations Group involved in a deadly officer involved shooting.

The shooting happened on October 16th of this year and led to the death of Ricky Ball.

The video shows all of the events that happened on that day, leading up to the shooting. It shows the first person perspective of officers Canyon Boykin and Max Branch.

The body camera footage shows traffic stops, a domestic call, a possible suicide attempt and felony arrest.

One video also shows the unauthorized passenger that was present the night of the deadly shooting.

The third officer involved, Yolanda Young, did not activate her camera on that day so there is no video from her perspective.

“We’re trying to foster trust and transparency to the community…”, said Interim Police Chief Fred Shelton, “…we want to try and build a trust between the community and the police department because it’s important for us to have trust.”

The video has been posted on the police department’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.

No video has been released of the deadly officer-involved shooting because of the ongoing M.B.I. and F.B.I investigation.
