DANGEROUS HEAT

TODAY: Very hot and humid. Mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 90s. Heat index values in the mid 100s. North winds light at 0-5 mph. Be sure to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and take frequent breaks from the heat.

TONIGHT: Warm and humid. Mostly clear, with lows in the mid 70s.

FRIDAY: Hot pattern continues, with highs again in the upper 90s, and heat index values in the low to mid 100s. A stray shower or storm could cut the heat some. Once again, if you are outdoors, stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and take frequent breaks from the heat. Rain chance at around 20%.

WEEKEND: Finally, a little relief from the high heat. Highs drop down into the low 90s, with a few scattered showers and thunderstorms possible each day. Rain chances at 30-40%.

NEXT WEEK: Highs remain in the low 90s for the first half of next week, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible Monday-Wednesday.
