More Flooding Likely Today. Severe Weather Saturday.

TODAY: Heavy rain at times today, with the heaviest and most prolonged rain falling along and northwest of the Natchez Trace Parkway. Significant flooding will be possible in areas where the heaviest rain falls. High temperatures in the 60s, with lows remaining in the low 60s overnight.

SATURDAY: Temperatures climb into the 70s ahead of an advancing cold front. Scattered showers and storms will be possible through the day. Storms could be severe from around 1 p.m. to around 10 p.m. All modes of severe weather will be possible, including strong straight line winds, some hail, a few tornadoes, and additional flooding. An isolated strong tornado cannot be ruled out. Rain ends overnight Saturday night, with lows dropping into the 40s behind the front.

SUN/MON: Drier weather returns to kick off next week. Highs in the upper 50s and low 60s. Lows in the 30s.

TUE/WED/THU: Scattered showers return to the forecast in the middle of next week, but thankfully these do not appear to pose any flooding risk. Highs in the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, then upper 50s Thursday.
