Hot and Humid; Few Clouds For Eclipse Viewing

TODAY: Well, today is the day. Millions across the country are gearing up for the eclipse, and viewing across north Mississippi and west Alabama looks pretty good all in all. At the peak of the eclipse, a few building cumulus clouds will be possible, and perhaps even a pop up shower, but most spots should be dry, and will hopefully have a good view. It looks like a hot and humid day across the area. Temperatures in the low to mid 90s, with heat index values in the upper 90s to low 100s. The temperature will suddenly drop during the eclipse at around 1:30 or so to the upper 80s, with heat index values in the mid 90s. The temperature will rebound and increase immediately after the eclipse. A stray shower or thunderstorm possible today. Chance of rain around 20%.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear, with lows in the low to mid 70s.

TUESDAY: A few scattered showers and thunderstorms. Hot and humid, with highs in the low 90s and heat index values in the upper 90s and low 100s. Chance of rain around 30%.

WEDNESDAY: Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 90. Heat index values in the upper 90s. Chance of rain around 50%.

THU/FRI: Absolutely beautiful weather. Plenty of sun and lower humidity, with highs in the upper 80s. Overnight lows in the 60s and low 70s.

WEEKEND: Humidity begins to build back in some. Highs around 90, with a few scattered storms in the afternoon. Rain chance around 20% Saturday and 30% Sunday.
