Taste Of Fall Continues.

TODAY: Sunny and pleasant. High temperatures climbing into the upper 70s this afternoon. Winds out of the north at 4-8 mph.

TONIGHT: Clear and cool. Lows in the low 50s.

FRI/SAT/SUN: Lots of sunshine, with highs in the low 80s. Great weekend weather. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 50s.

MON/TUE/WED: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, but still no rain chances through the first half of next week. High temperatures will hover around 80°.

TROPICS: At the moment, the biggest concern for US weather continues to be Hurricane Irma, which has maintained its category 5 intensity as it passed over the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands. The latest forecast track for Irma takes the storm up the Florida coast towards the Carolinas, with impacts felt from the Florida Keys to North Carolina. Irma will not have a direct impact on Mississippi weather. Hurricane Katia is churning in the Gulf of Mexico. It will make landfall as a Hurricane in Mexico, with no US impacts. Finally, Hurricane Jose is well east of Irma in the Atlantic. It’s still way to far out to know about any US impacts yet.
