Severe Threats

TONIGHT: Still the chance of a passing shower or storm during the night but most folks probably won’t see much. Low clouds should fill back in and we’ll probably be overcast by sunrise. Lows will be in the mid 60s.

FRIDAY:  There is a 40% to 50% chance of showers and storms around the region. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly when or where they’ll be at any given time so just keep an umbrella on standby throughout the day.  There could also be a locally strong storm as well but the overall threat of that is on the low end of the spectrum. Highs should push well into the 70s and a few spots may get to 80°.  Southerly breezes between 5 and 15 mph are going to continue.

SATURDAY:  We’ll wake up to a fair amount of cloud cover but the clouds should thin out to some extent as the day goes on. The rain chance is just 20% but that still means a few passing showers will still be possible.  Afternoon highs are expected to be in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

SUNDAY:  Variably cloudy, warm, and humid weather sticks around.  Widespread highs in the low 80s are a good bet at this time.

NEXT WEEK:  Warm and humid conditions will continue at least through Tuesday.  Each day during this time feature highs in the low 80s with lows in the 60s.  We can’t rule out a few passing showers or storms close to the Tennessee border Monday and Tuesday. Cooler temperatures may finally return starting Wednesday with the passage of a stronger cold front.
