Residents feed people helping with tornado relief efforts

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – With recovery efforts well underway, there have been many people in need of food.

Local residents have stepped up and fired up their grills to help feed first responders, volunteers and more.

Across from Carter’s Funeral Service today, several church groups and even local residents rolled up with grills and started cooking.

“We’re out here just grilling, we saw the need to get involved. We’re gonna get out here and just contribute to the cause. A lot of people, need help, need food, we think that food will definitely help the first responders,” said volunteer Terrell Thomas.

Groups are serving hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken wings, and more and they plan to be there as long as needed.
