Scattered Storms Today; Cooler and Drier Thursday.

Weather Headlines

TODAY: Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible throughout the day, with the best chance of rain coming this afternoon south of US-82. Highs in the upper 80s, with heat index values in the upper 90s and low 100s. Chance of rain around 40%.

TONIGHT: Rain ending by about 7 PM. Variably cloudy, with lows in the upper 60s.

THU/FRI: Much cooler and pleasant to round out the work week. Highs in the mid to upper 80s, and the humidity will be quite low as well. We’ll stay partly cloudy to mostly sunny, with no rain chances.

WEEKEND: Low end rain chances creep back into the fold. Highs remain in the mid to upper 80s. Rain chance at 20% Saturday and 30% Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: A tropical system is likely to bring some rain to our area next week. Models are differing about which days we will see this moisture and how much rain could fall, so for now rain chances are still hovering around 50% for Monday and Tuesday, but the potential for heavy rainfall will exist next week. We will continue to monitor this closely. Temperatures will remain in the low to mid 80s to start next week.
