Summer Pattern Won’t Break

TODAY: Temperatures in the low 90s, with heat index values around 95°-100° in the afternoon. Partly cloudy, with a few pop up thunderstorms in the afternoon. Chance of rain around 30%.

TONIGHT: A lingering shower or storm possible before 10 pm, then partly cloudy and muggy. Lows in the low 70s.

FRIDAY: Another hot and humid day with highs in the low 90s. Once again, a few spots will see relief from the heat in the form of pop up showers and storms. Rain chance again around 30%.

WEEKEND: Still quite warm, with highs at or around 90°. A couple of stray showers and storms possible in the afternoon, but the majority of folks stay hot and dry. Rain chance around 20%.

NEXT WEEK: Highs remain in the upper 80s to near 90°. Overall rain chances will remain low Monday through Wednesday, around or below 10%.

BEYOND 7 DAYS: Looking a bit beyond the 7 day forecast, an upper level trough should move through our area late next week. This would likely have an associated cold front which would increase our rain chances late in the week, and temperatures would likely drop below average behind it. Still a bit too far out to speculate how big of a cool-down we will get, but any relief from this heat will be welcome.
