Sunny & Warm Next 2 Days, Watching The Tropics

Thursday Planner

Thursday Planner

TONIGHT: Look for a bright full moon with comfortable temperatures in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY: Simply spectacular fall weather remains on track under mostly sunny skies. Highs both days should be in the mid to upper 80s.  Easterly breezes are set to continue as well.  There won’t be any issues for high school football again this week.

WEEKEND:  At this point we’re going to forecast highs in the 80s with more cloud cover and a 20% to 30% chance of rain but forecast confidence remains low.  The wild card in the mix is tropical depression #16/future Tropical Storm Nate currently off the coast of Central America.  That system is expected to be somewhere in the southern Gulf of Mexico by Saturday.  It’s way to early to tell whether or not the system will turn east and head into Florida (current expectations of the National Hurricane Center and European ECMWF model) or track back to the west and come inland near Louisiana (as predicted by the American GFS model).  A western track would mean more rain and storms for us while an eastern track would really limit moisture chances here.   Suffice to say there are uncertainties right now but it definitely bears watching since it will get into the Gulf this weekend.

NEXT WEEK:  There are some signs that cooler and drier air may return to the region by the middle of the week on the backside of whatever kind of tropical system happens to affect the region.  Highs may be only in the 70s by Wednesday!
