VIDEO: Brandon Presley Shines Light On Telemarketing Scams

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Public Service Commissioner, Brandon Presley also attended Wednesday’s Healthy Living For Seniors Expo.

The expo made available a variety of different information including; pre-planning, home care, finances and health care.

Presley says you can’t forget about safety. Recently senior citizens have been the target of telemarketing scams.

Presley says making the community aware is the only way to combat them.

“Almost on a daily basis, we see some new telemarketer pop up trying to sell something from a vacation package to a car warranty. We need the public to report those to us. Many of these calls are coming from a foreign company. We keep track of those and investigate and prosecute those cases to make sure we are tying to protect the public,”said Presley
