VIDEO: Ice Skating In The Magnolia Sate

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Families from northeast Mississippi and beyond descended on the Bancorp South arena this weekend.

And through January 21st, they will be able to put on the ice skates.

The arena will be open for public skating during the Christmas and New Year’s season when the children are out of school.

This is the ninth year for this event.

“It’s a great community event. And we get people from Tennesee Alabama, and Mississippi they travel for an hour and a half maybe two hours to get here. And it’s just a nice family oriented event,” said Organizer Drew Lumsden.

Lumsden says the public skating would not be possible without the support from the city of Tupelo and corporate sponsors like WCBI-TV.
