Students at Sudduth elementary school get some local flavor.

During their lunch today, farmer Sam McLemore treated the students to fresh grown produce from his farm.

The student got to try egg plant, squash, tomatoes and okra as apart of their meal.

The students learned about the importance of eating local and eating fresh.

“You get the most nutrition from the freshest vegetables. So the longer that a vegetable has been harvested before you eat it the less nutrition that you get .

Fresh is Best,” Local Farmer Sam Mc’Lemore said.

It’s national farm to school month, the School hopes to have this event annually.
