Wetter Weather Returns.

TODAY: Dry through the first half of the day, but showers move in this afternoon and evening as a deepening upper level trough and associated low pressure system approach the area from the west. High temperatures will climb into the upper 50s and low 60s this afternoon, then the rain will move in. Highest rain chances come overnight. Lows drop into the upper 40s tonight.

THU/FRI: The upper level low and surface low cross over our area during the day Thursday, bringing off and on showers through the day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s. As the upper level and surface low push to our east Thursday night, a cold front will approach our area from the west bringing additional lift and triggering more rain Thursday night. Temperatures drop into the upper 30s overnight Thursday. Late Thursday night into Friday morning, there is some potential for a brief changeover to a rain/snow mix or light snow showers, but with temperatures well above freezing and the ground quite wet and warm, there should be no impacts from any changeover to wintry precip. A few scattered showers continue Friday morning, then drying off and staying mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs Friday only in the mid 40s. Overnight, partly cloudy and cold, with lows in the upper 20s and low 30s, below freezing area-wide.

SATURDAY: A surface high and upper level ridging builds in Saturday, keeping us dry and sunny. Highs in the mid to upper 50s, with overnight lows in the upper 30s.

SUN/MON/TUE: As we head into next week, some weak upper level disturbances to our north as well as some marginal moisture in our area will lead to a few isolated to scattered showers, but the first half of the week will be far from a washout. High temperatures in the mid to upper 50s Sunday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Overnight lows will remain in the upper 30s and low 40s.
