TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — It was a chance to meet and greet some well known football players from the college and pro levels.

A party was held at the Grill at Fair Park in Tupelo honoring athletes who will take part in Saturday’s “Touchdowns for Tornado Relief” Fundraiser.

Some of those taking part in Saturday’s event at Ballard Park include, former MSU player Cameron Floyd, Chad Bumphis, of the Jacksonville Jaguars, former MSU quarterback Tyler Russell and former University of Mississippi player Dedrick Clark, along with Romaro Miller, also of Ole Miss.

Participants will be taken through various football drills by the players and coaches.

“Really excited to be able to bring all these NFL players , and former college players here. That way they can give back, These guys are not getting paid , they’re coming out here to donate because they care about the city of Tupelo and the things happening here as well as I do,” said Cameron FLoyd.

“Knowing what happened here and having guys come back and help and donate, being able to give time, is the main thing and being able to come back and donate is huge, got a lot of players excited about it, I think it will be a good turnout,” said Chad Bumphis.

It all takes place Saturday at Ballard Park at the soccer fields. A $30  fee includes the camp, t shirt and lunch. All proceeds go to tornado relief efforts through the Create Foundation. For more information go to www.touchdownsfortornadorelief.com
