Joe Chandler won the seat by eight votes in 2015.   Former Supervisor Floyd McKee challenged the results saying he had proof of voting irregularities in the election.   The Clay County Democratic Executive Committee rejected McKee’s argument and awarded the race to Chandler.  McKee filed suit seeking to have the race declared void but the Clay County Circuit Court said that challenge came too late and Thursday the Supreme court agreed and threw out McKee’s challenge and told the Clay County Circuit Court to dismiss the case.
