COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI)Santa came a little early for the children at the Palmer Home for Children in Columbus.

Severstal employees have been collecting toys and money to benefit the home this holiday season.

Tuesday, those generous donations were dropped off at the home, that has been a safe haven for orphaned children for a century.

The choir, “The Treble Makers” sang at Tuesday’s celebration.

Severstal representatives say they wanted to do something to help their community.

” It is very important that we share everything with all the kids, the grandkids. I mean these are children that need a little extra and we that maybe we could provide that,” says Severstal VP. Wilbure Winland.

The Columbus campus provides care for nearly 80 children.
