PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI)- According to CBS NEWS, The London’s Metropolitan police force has banned its officers from showing tattoos.  Tattoos on the face or hands or above the collar line are considered an unprofessional image of the Britain’s top police force.

Tattoos can an expression for some, but how does having tattoos effect your future in the work force?  We talked to a personal business owner in Pontotoc, who says having tattoos should not impact a person’s qualifications for a job. “I really don’t think tattoos would interfere with someone’s performance as far as a job. I myself have tattoos and I think anything within moderation is, you know, you can overdue lots of things,” says Rita Ward.

We also spoke with Patricia Mitchell the Humans Resource Director at Columbus City Hall who says the Lowndes County police department does not have a current policy in place for the department regarding tattoos, but the subject has come up for discussion.
