Toyota Shows Off Tombigbee Project

LEE COUNTY (TUPELO) -A commitment from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi has made a huge difference at a historic state park.

The automaker is investing five years and two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in a partnership with the Mississippi Department of wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, and Tombigbee State Park.

During a media day, TMMMS executives pointed out several projects team members have worked on at the park.

The projects include, repairs to a cabin, construction of a playground and T ball field, along with the construction of a 180 foot bridge that reconnects a trail in the park.

The automaker also challenged other businesses to join the effort to improve the park.  Hunter Douglas and American Furniture has pledged their support to help renovate the historic park.
