CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI)-The drought is over in Corinth.

The first liquor store to be approved under the new city ordinance opened last weekend.

Corinth Wine and Spirits on Shiloh Road opened late last Friday for business.

The Twisted Cork off Highway 72 West and Wholesale Liquor on South Cass Street are expected to also open later this week.

More than half a dozen other package stores and restaurants have also applied for ABC permits and are awaiting approval.

Corinth residents voted to allow the sale of alcohol in December.
