VIDEO: Oktibbeha County Supervisors Appoint Interim Chancery Clerk

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-  Oktibbeha County supervisors have named an interim Chancery Clerk.

Sharon Livingston will fill the role left vacant after the death of long-time clerk Monica Banks Friday.

Livingston served as deputy clerk over land records.

The county will likely hold a special election within the next year. That person will complete the remainder of Banks’ term.

Meanwhile, services for Banks have been set. Visitation will be held Friday from 12pm to 5pm at Century Hairston Funeral Home in Starkville. A wake for family and friends will follow at St. Paul Baptist Church from 6pm to 8pm.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2pm at the church.
