Disney World is the happiest place on earth and Jim Cucchiara thought it was the perfect place to surprise his wife-to-be.
“When dinner was over, I had asked her how she enjoyed her vacation. She said well, she thought it was some magical place where dreams come true at Disney World. I knew she was thinking about our relationship possibly coming to an end because I was moving off to do some training for the Air Force,” says Jim Cucchiara.
But it was just the beginning of their lives together. Jim proposed to Andrea at the Cinderella Castle as fireworks lit up the sky.
“I was shocked. They said they were bringing out desserts and when they came out there was a silver tray, an antique pillow and on top of it was a glass slipper and there was this blue ring tied to it,” says Andrea Cucchiara.
A little glass slipper carried Andrea’s blue diamond wedding ring. Jim and Andrea say Disney World was the perfect place for them to get engaged.
“Andrea always liked the Cinderalla fairy tale story so I thought, what better place to have it than there,” says Jim.
“A Princess. From an ordinary girl then all of sudden she gets what she always dreamed of. She gets her Prince Charming a man who treats her like a queen,” says Andrea.
The couple enjoyed that night so much, they even spent their honeymoon at Disney World. As the WCBI contest winners, the Cucchiaras won dinner for two at J. Broussards with a limo ride from Leo’s Luxury Limos. They also received gift certificates to Purple Elephant, Brickerton Day Spa and Bokays.
The Cucchiaras have been married for 10 years and have three children.
