PRENTISS COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A wanted man’s attempt to flee from authorities Monday in Prentiss County was met with defeat.
Prentiss County sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve a felony arrest warrant issued by Monroe County for 24-year-old Belden resident Ryan Perkins.
After deputies made contact with Perkins, according to a press release, he “fled into a wooded area.”
Perkins reportedly broke into a nearby home where he reportedly stole six guns, along with clothes and a 2002 GMC pickup truck.
Per the release, Perkins attempted to sell the stolen weapons in Marion County, Ala., but Marion deputies were able to arrest him.
Perkins faces multiple felony charges in Marion County. He has also been charged with burglary of a dwelling, two counts of grand larceny and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Prentiss County.
Prentiss County deputies will extradite Perkins to face state charges, but he is currently detained in Marion County.
