Cindy’s Impacts Continue
TODAY: Tropical Storm Cindy continues to hammer the deep south this morning. Heavy rain has fallen across the area already, and more rain is on the way today. Highs in the low 80s. A few showers and storms may produce a few brief, spin-up tornadoes this afternoon. Non-thunderstorm related winds today will range from 15-25 miles per hour, with wind gusts possibly in excess of 30 mph.
FRIDAY: More heavy rain will be possible on Friday as the remnant low of Cindy passes across the mid south. A few spin up tornadoes cannot be ruled out on Friday. Highs in the low 80s. WInds in the 10-20 mph range with higher gusts possible.
WEEKEND: As Cindy pushes to the east, a front will approach our area from the northwest, triggering scattered showers and thunderstorms. Best chance of rain will occur Saturday, but a few isolated to widely scattered showers and storms can’t be ruled out. Highs in the low to mid 80s both Saturday and Sunday.
NEXT WEEK: Things start to dry out in the first half of the work week next week. An isolated shower or two possible Monday, then dry Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will be on an upward swing, from the low 80s Monday into the upper 80s by Wednesday.
