Rainfall Potential Through Sunday

The latest drought monitor was released Thursday morning and it continues to show dry conditions across most of north Mississippi, north Alabama, and north Georgia.  There has been some improvement during the last week, especially in parts of Alabama.  Most of the WCBI viewing area remains in the moderate, severe, and extreme drought categories.

Rain chances will continue for the next week but heavy downpour activity is expected to be scattered in nature across northeast Mississippi and west Alabama.   Flooding rains remain possible across southwest Mississippi and Louisiana through the weekend.
