Deputies are on scene of the double homicide on County Road 285.

The 42-year-old Ridgeland resident was formerly Clarksdale-area president of Southern Bancorp Bank, which is based in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Good timing led Monroe County deputies to an accused thief.

A man released on parole, after receiving a life sentence in the 1980s, is back in jail for a weapon charge. 

Court documents allege Williams stole a cell phone from someone in May 2017.

The incident happened back in late December, two days before Christmas.

Prosecutors also claimed the man falls under the habitual offender status.

The alleged hold-up happened last September at a convenience store on Highway 50.

If convicted, he faces up to 27 years in prison and $750,000 in fines.
