A weekend fire in the woods took the lives of two victims according to the Lee County coroner’s office. On Saturday evening, a blaze erupted near Hope Church and McCullough Boulevard in a wooded area east of the church.
The Lee County coroner’s office is investigating the shooting death of a 24-year-old woman. Investigators said the incident took place in Verona on Lisa Avenue around 4 a.m. January 8.
