Husband charged with wife's murder in Noxubee County

No one was hurt. Deputies later tracked the suspect down and he was arrested. No trial date has been set.
Lowndes County deputies were called to a home about someone possibly stealing electricity. An extension cord was found going to an abandoned mobile home.
The baby was taken into custody by the Department of Human Services.
Investigators believe the suspect burst into a mobile home on Tabernacle Road and shot one person.
Columbus police say the suspect originally called officers to say his home was being broken into. There was no evidence of a burglary or home invasion.
Prosecutors allege the victim was under the age of 14-years-old.
The girl was under the age of 16. Her mother accused the suspect of sexually assaulting the child in the home.
The shooting happened outside Motel 6 on December 22, 2017. Michael Garth of Starkville was shot and died at the scene.
Resisting Arrest and Causing Damage to a Police Vehicle charges are pending.
Dogs were called in and the suspect was tracked to his girl friend's house on Franconia Road.

Items such as trailers, power tools, lumber, mowers and other equipment were found throughout the county.
