Thomas Green escaped from the Marion County jail just before 1 am. He was in jail for a first degree Rape charge.

The inmate was serving a life sentence for a 1994 burglary and assault conviction in Mobile County.

The defendant is accused of sending sexually explicit texts to a Columbus High School student. The student's mother reportedly filed the original report.

Police say some stolen property has been recovered. The auto-burglaries in question happened around the beginning of April.

Most of the stolen items has been recovered. Bond is set at $40,000.

The arrests were made on Stanley Street last week. One suspect has been extradited to Lee County to face charges.

Investigators got a tip the suspects would be dropping off a vehicle at a scrap yard. Deputies waited for the men to arrive and tried to stop them.

No one was injured during the pursuit. The investigation into the case is still on-going.

The suspect was out of jail on bond when he was arrested.

There was another theft the same night. Deputies want to talk the driver of the vehicle.

The charges stem from an argument the couple got into back in April.

Nikita Nicole Wilson's body was found last August on Butler Road in Noxubee County. She was reported missing that July to Choctaw Tribal Police.

The baby was taken into custody by the Department of Human Services.

Investigators believe the suspect burst into a mobile home on Tabernacle Road and shot one person.

The shooting happened outside Motel 6 on December 22, 2017. Michael Garth of Starkville was shot and died at the scene.
